Community Events Planned Throughout April

"The Lost Mountaineers" Screening Offered

VICENZA, Italy – The Ederle Post Theater will host a free screening of "The Lost Mountaineers" on April 28 at 11:00 a.m. The film tells the story of the 10th Mountain Division soldiers who perished in Lake Garda during World War II.

Central Processing Facility Relocates

VICENZA, Italy -- All Central Processing Facility services will relocate from Building 393 to Building 309 from April 16-18. No impact to services is expected April 16. Reduced services will be available April 17. The facility will be closed April 18 and offer reduced services April 21 for a host nation holiday. Normal operations will resume at the new location on April 22. Relocated services include in- and out-processing, identification cards and Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, Total Army Sponsorship Program, military pay in- and out-processing, housing, transportation, driver testing, and the photo booth.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

VICENZA, Italy – This April, communities are reminded to prioritize child safety and well-being in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Support families and work together to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Housing Survey Seeks Soldier Feedback

VICENZA, Italy – Soldiers are encouraged to share their experiences with government-provided housing by participating in the Fiscal Year 2025 Housing Tenant Satisfaction Survey. The online survey is confidential and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Access the survey at [shortened link].

Antiterrorism Course Offered

VICENZA, Italy – U.S. Army Garrison Italy will host an Antiterrorism Officer Basic Course (Level 2) from July 14-18. The course is open to government service employees grade GS-05 and above, U.S. contractors, and military personnel E-6 and above. Units wishing to enroll personnel should submit a signed Department of the Army Form 1487 and student training packet, or service equivalent, to the garrison training manager at jose.g.vasquez.civ@army.mil by June 14.

Free Sign Language Courses Offered

VICENZA, Italy -- The Exceptional Family Member Program will offer free American Sign Language courses. Level 1 classes will be held Tuesdays from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Arena. Level 2 classes will be held Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Caserma Ederle Library. Classes run from April 22 to June 26. Registration closes April 18.

ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF REPRESENTATIVES NEEDED

VICENZA, Italy – All units are required to have trained Army Emergency Relief unit representatives. The rank requirement for training is E-5 and above. Use this email usarmy.usag-italy.id-europe.mbx.fmwr-acs-efmp@army.mil for scheduling and information.

VICENZA HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS SCHEDULE

The Vicenza High School Cougars Baseball and Softball teams will play at Palladio and Del Din on April 12 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and April 19 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. The Track & Field team will compete at Vilseck on April 12 at 10 a.m. and at Ansbach on April 19 at 10 a.m. The Soccer Boys and Girls teams will play at Naples on April 12 at 10 a.m. and at home on April 18 and 19 at 4 p.m. and 10 a.m., respectively.

GERMANY BORDER CONTROLS: Germany has instituted controls at all German borders. When traveling, ensure you have your passport, Soggiorno, SOFA card, ID card, and, if applicable, either TDY orders or absence/leave form. Take an international driver’s license if you are driving across borders. The SETAF license is valid ONLY in NATO countries (not including Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria).

PLACE MAIL ON HOLD DURING TDY/LEAVE: Before going on TDY or Leave, personnel should stop by the post office and place their mail on hold. Visit the postal services site to find information on how to forward or place your mail on hold.

REGISTERING FOR ALERTS: ALERT! is the primary DOD emergency mass warning system. Self-registration is available to Soldiers, Family Members, DAC Civilians, and LN employees on a CAC-enabled computer. Be sure to update your profile when you PCS.
