Popeyes opens in Posnania
The restaurant of the New Orlean-based Popeyes network will open on August 1 at 11 a.m. The restaurant will be located in the Food Court in Posnania Mall. This is the seventh restaurant of the chain in our country, which is famous for its Louisiana cuisine.
During opening night, the restaurant offers one-year voucher for free chicken sandwiches. The first hundred customers standing in front of the restaurant will eat the Chicken Sandwich for free, on the opening day. The Brass Band will play live music and the event will be captured in the photo booth. There will also be a stand for creative branding of shoes, clothing and accessories.
Pizza Run is coming to Poznań
In June, the event took place in Warsaw and attracted a large group of amateurs of running and eating pizza. This time the event is planned in Poznań, specifically in Malta. The Pizza Run will take place on August 4, 2024. Pizza Run is a great opportunity to take care of your fitness and at the same time satisfy your culinary preferences. After crossing the finish line, each participant receives not only a medal, but also a piece of pizza - the organizers say.
It is already known that the Poznań run will take place on three distances. For adults there are 5.4 km - a full encirclement of Lake Malta. Children will be able to measure at two distances - 500 and 1000 meters.

Candelabra refurbished in Poznań
In Poznań, the candelabra was once normal. Today, only three have preserved and it is not surprising that they are under special supervision. According to Aquanet, the employees of the company together with the Municipal Roads Authority renovated and installed the lampshade of one of the candelabras, specifically from Mottego Street. - It's a real rarity and a piece of our city's history. In the end, only a few of them have been preserved - emphasizes Andrzej Czarnecki, head of the Aquanet Water Supply Network.
Where are the other lamps? There is one on Małeckiego Street, very close to the one mentioned. The third one stands in the Aquanet at Piątkowska Street. Their name comes from the Kandelaber model produced in the 19th century by the Aeorgengas factory in the Hanover. Later, the decorated structures were also created in the Poznań buildings of Cegielski. Today, of course, the lamps are no longer connected to the gas - notes Aquanet.
Measuring braids in Poznań
Braids measuring is a part of a well-known festival. It takes place in four categories - girls up to 5 years of age, girls up to 10 years of age, girls up to 15 years old and ladies up to 100 years old. Last year, the longest braid was 163 centimeters.
The event was held for the 23rd time at 21st July. Magdalena’s Warkocz Festival began at 12.30 a.m. in Fara Poznańska. After the Mass there was a traditional march on Kolegiacki Square. Later, in the Courtyard of the City Hall, there was a festival organized on the occasion of the feast of the patron saint of the parish church - St. Mary Magdalene.

Construction work in Poznań and changes in public transport
Wawrzyniaka street
On July 16 on Wawrzyniaka Street construction workers will begin the renovation related to the water and gas network, therefore there will be temporary changes in the organization of traffic on the section from Jackowskiego to Szamarzewskiego streets
"Wawrzyniaka Street on this section will be narrowed for general traffic, pavements on both sides of the road will be closed, and pedestrian traffic will be carried out with a temporary route" - informs Agata Kaniewska, spokesman of ZDM.
There will be no parking possibility for the works and the counter-pass on the work will be disabled on the section of the works. "As the contractor informs, the renovation is scheduled for 1.5 months. The access to the properties will be maintained" - the spokeswoman concludes.
Reymonta street
The organization of traffic on the section on which the work is carried out will change. As reported, the right lane of the roadway will be closed to traffic and the lane from the roundabout of Jana Nowaka Jeziorańskiego (from Grunwaldzka street) to the intersection with Wyspiańskiego street.
"During the renovation, an old and damaged surface is milled, and a new one is laid in its place. The curbs are also mentioned. The works are carried out in stages, so as to maintain the passability of the street" - informs Agata Kaniewska, spokesman of ZDM.
Strzeszyńska street
On July 22, the renovation of Strzeszyńska street will start on the section from Biskupińska to the intersection with Szarych Szeregow street.
During the work, the destroyed surface of the road will be renovated and replaced with a new one. Due to this, the comfort of travel will be significantly improved.
In the process of renovation, the street will be passable. At the stage of the work, there will be one-way traffic - towards the roundabout of Sroki. On the other two-way. The proposed tour of the one-way section leads through the streets of Kosowska, Zakopianska and Biskupińska.

The pedestrian-bike bridges connecting Chwaliszewo with Ostrów Tumski
The installation of the last element of the bridge structure connecting Chwaliszewo with Ostrow Tumski has been completed, which is an important milestone in the project. More than a week earlier, the installation of steel parts of the shorter bridge in Berdychowo was completed. As a result, both pedestrian-bike bridges already have complete spans.
The contractor will now focus on welding the last elements of the structure of both bridges and cleaning the surface of unnecessary handles that were necessary for assembly. There are also plans to perform bridge drainage systems.
The completion of the installation of the long-term bridge structure will soon allow the demolition of temporary supports in the Warta current, which were used in the assembly of steel elements.
The bridges are distinguished by minimalist style, dynamic, expressive arc lines and a clear form. The bulge of bridges in the central part creates a recreation space, which additionally affects the visual reception of the structure through their optical extension in perspective. The bridges, having the same structure, create a coherent spatial composition, especially readable from the perspective of the Roch Bridge and the southern sign-vics.
The new crossings will connect the Poznań University of Technology with the southern part of Ostrów Tumski and the left-bank part of Poznań in the Chwaliszewo region. Bridges will be an integral part of the bicycle infrastructure on both sides of Warta. The investment is also aimed at activating the area of the southern part of Ostrów Tumski, which will be developed with greenery and small architecture, such as benches.
The completion of construction works is planned for spring 2025.
