The Department of the Army launched in May its first marketing campaign focused on recruiting civilians, and Redstone had a supporting role in the effort.

The campaign, called “Find Your Next Level,” features two campaign videos that give an inside look at two Army civilian careers:

·        “Boxes,” which captures an Army civilian physical scientist and his team as they drill into the ice to take ice core samples, demonstrating the unique and global nature of a civilian career.

·        “Sky,” which shows an Army civilian satellite engineer working at an expansive satellite array with a team of people, transforming an intimate working moment into a high-scale project.

Both videos were inspired by the career experiences of Army civilians who served as subject matter experts on the campaign.

Redstone personnel are not featured in the campaign videos, which were filmed in California, according to Maj. Jason Bogardus, plans and strategy officer with the Army Enterprise Marketing Office.

“However, Redstone folks had a huge role in the ‘Evergreen’ photo shoot. All 48 ‘Evergreen’ stills were captured at Redstone or in the surrounding area,” he said. “Those assets are being used on the website ArmyCivilianCareers.com, printed materials, banners, event materials, etc.

“We also interviewed Redstone Army civilians, and we used some of their testimonials as quotes on the website,” Bogardus said. “Those are obviously just a small piece of the longer interview.”

The Army Enterprise Marketing Office is responsible for creating and distributing the Army’s marketing campaigns, Bogardus said. “For the Army civilian campaign, we partnered with the Civilian Human Resource Agency to conduct research, develop strategy and ultimately develop the creative assets to market Army civilian careers to our target audience.”

A crew from the marketing office was at Redstone Dec. 11-12 and in the surrounding area Dec. 13-15.

The ArmyCivilianCareers.com website provides the basic requirements to be an Army civilian and benefits.

With more than 265,000 employees, the Army civilian workforce is one of the largest groups of civilian employees within the Department of Defense, and more than 500 career paths are available, including contracting, finance, cybersecurity and engineering, according to the press release announcing the campaign.

“Find Your Next Level” will be featured in television, print, digital billboards, streaming video, social platforms and audio channels.

The launch of the civilian recruitment campaign coincided with the debut of a new Army civilian brand, which includes a new Army civilian logo and creative elements that reflect the overall Army brand that was introduced last year.

The Army brand’s new look is a reengineered five-point star logo coupled with the return of the popular “Be All You Can Be” tagline.
