Construction of Old Brewery Shopping Mall Began 22 Years Ago

Twenty-two years ago, the construction of the Old Brewery Shopping Mall began, marking the start of what would become one of Poznań's iconic landmarks. In 1998, the company "Nowy Stary Browar" purchased property on Półwiejska Street from Lech Browary Wielkopolskie and acquired additional land in the area. Construction officially began on June 1, 2002, after the contractor, PORR Projekt Und Hochbau A.G., took over the site on May 29.

The foundation stone was laid on June 29, 2002, during a ceremony that featured an open-air performance of the opera "Rigoletto" by the Grand Theatre. The first phase of construction was completed in 2003, featuring over 100 shops, restaurants, and cafes. In April 2004, the Art Courtyard opened, followed by the second wing in March 2007.

Since 2015, the Old Brewery has been owned by Deutsche Asset & Management, which purchased the property for approximately €290 million. Today, it remains a symbol of modern Poznań.
