Good afternoon, Team –

Every year across the nation, April is recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, or SAAPM. This year, the Army’s specific theme for its SAAPM campaign is “Change Through Unity: Empower. Protect. Prevent,” representing the importance of eliminating sexual assault and sexual harassment by working together to build a respectful culture for all. At CECOM, we all play a critical role in strengthening our respective command climates by promoting behaviors that protect others and foster a safe environment.

April is also the Month of the Military Child, recognizing and honoring the role military children play in our armed forces community. CECOM and the Army remain committed to military families and children, so please join me in thanking them for the support and contributions they make on behalf of Soldiers.

Team, I am very pleased to share that ILSC’s Mr. William “Bill” Baker was named the 2023 Logistics Assistance Representative of the Year. Mr. Baker serves as CECOM’s Power and Environmental LAR stationed at Schofield Barracks, HI. While CECOM has so many great and worthy LARs across our global footprint, Mr. Baker stood out due to his outstanding technical and logistics support to the Army, his contributions to C5ISR readiness, and his unwavering commitment to local support and exercises. He distinguished himself through his ability to share knowledge by offering hands-on training and guidance to LARs in Alaska and Hawaii, as well as his expert understanding of LARs that contributed to operational readiness and drove necessary modifications to technical manuals. Congratulations to Mr. Baker on this prestigious accomplishment and best of luck to him as he will represent CECOM in the AMC “Robertson J. Short” LAR of the Year competition later in 2024!

To all our teammates worldwide, thank you for your continued support and dedication to our Soldiers and nation.

This We’ll Defend!
