TRAINING COMMAND – MILITARY ACADEMY, Vyškov, Czech Republic (April 12, 2024) – More than 100 senior military leaders from 26 NATO allies and partner nations across Europe came together for the annual Conference of European Training Centers (CETC) in Vyškov, Czech Republic on April 10-11, 2024. The event was co-hosted by the 7th Army Training Command and the Czech Army's Training Command – Military Academy (TCMA).
This was the Czech Republic's first time co-hosting the CETC. The focus was on interoperability, readiness, collective multinational training, and exchanging lessons learned and best practices to improve training.
The annual conference offers leaders the opportunity to discuss joint training initiatives among European training centers, as well as participation in educational programs and international military courses. Additionally, participants can share their experiences in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating collective training at the multinational level. The conference also aims to facilitate the development of military educational programs in response to modern security challenges.
The leaders also discussed the future of simulation technologies that are revolutionizing how NATO forces prepare for modern challenges. With presentations from six leading simulation centers, including 7ATC’s Joint Multinational Simulation Center and Training Support Activity Europe, members opened the door to new avenues of multinational training for the future.
The conference concluded with tours of Slavkov Castle in Austerlitz and the site of Napoleon Bonaparte’s headquarters during the battle of Austerlitz.
This year's CETC celebrates the recent 75th anniversary of the NATO Alliance, the Czech Armed Force’s 25th year in NATO and the 15th anniversary of the TCMA.
Multinational events such as the CETC serve to strengthen members of the joint force in Europe through unification under common goals, building bonds of trust, and continually improving the quality of training.
