Colombia visits Sierra Army Depot for joint visual inspection

By Sarah ZALERApril 11, 2024

Representatives of the Colombian Land Forces and the U.S. Government's Security Assistance Management Directorate (SAMD) perform a joint visual/physical inspection (JVI) of tactical vehicles at Sierra Army Depot, California, the first week of April 2024.

Colombia is allocated some tactical vehicles through the Excess Defense Articles (EDA) portion of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, if they choose to finalize any selections with a signed Letter of Offer and Acceptance.

The term EDA is applied collectively to U.S. defense articles which are no longer needed by the U.S. Armed Forces. EDA may be made available for sale under the FMS Program (Sec 21 AECA) or as grant. The JVI is to support our Colombian partners to review and inspect vehicles for an FMS case.
