ACC Develops Strategic Dashboard

By Rebecca WilliamsApril 8, 2024

ACC HQ recently introduced a new tool called the Strategic Sources Dashboard, which enables users to locate and leverage contracts across DoD and the Federal Government already supporting Army customers. Whether you are searching for an existing contract to leverage, recompeting a contract, or have an urgent requirement for a specific product or service, the Strategic Sources Dashboard may be able to save you valuable time by streamlining the market research process and save Army resources by enabling the efficient utilization of existing contracts.

Aligning with the OMB Category Management definition for Spend Under Management (SUM), ACC defined “Strategic Contracts” for this tool to include contracts with a SUM rating of Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3/Best in Class (BIC) and Tier 0 IDV.  We have harnessed the power of Vantage’s existing Category Management Tool to develop this new “Strategic Contract Dashboard” feature.

The Dashboard offers an interactive visual display of data with searchability, export capabilities, and provides data elements including points of contact, Contract Name, Category, and Description of Requirement.  There are three key visual components to the dashboard: 1) Search filters vertically on left, 2) Graphed result of number of contracts by Contracting Organization at top, and 3) Contract detail information on the bottom.  There is also a link to lookup product service code (PSC) information, as well as a Help link to a job aid, FAQs, and a “suggestion” option.

The initial data applies a default filter for two fields: “ACC” as the Command, and Contract End Date of after 9/30/2023 to display active contracts. However, these filters can be cleared if desired. The bar chart at the top displays the number of “Unique Contracts” (this count is based on the initial base contract and does not count modifications or orders) based on the filter selections made.

Upcoming features to the dashboard include: 1) providing link to the PWS, 2) link to the ordering guide if available, and 3) a “one click” search that will search several preselected fields with key words versus applying multiple individual filters.

This tool is available on Army Vantage and will have a mirrored companion site on SharePoint soon!
