Installation Management Command Commanding General Lt. Gen. Omar Jones and IMCOM Command Sgt. Maj. Jason Copeland visited Fort Leavenworth March 19-20 to thank the IMCOM workforce for their service and support, and to recognize their contributions to improve the readiness, resilience, and quality of life for soldiers and their families.

The IMCOM leadership team conducted a town hall meeting March 19 to engage with the IMCOM workforce. Jones answered several questions, thanked the employees for their hard work and commended them for helping make Fort Leavenworth such a beautiful post.

While at Fort Leavenworth, Jones and Copeland visited several offices across post and recognized a few staff members for their outstanding achievements, including:

• Carmela Feltz, Fort Leavenworth Child Development Center facility director, for her outstanding efforts during a recent Army Higher Headquarters Inspection

• Bethany Roemer, Fort Leavenworth Child and Youth Services facility director, for her outstanding efforts during a recent Army Higher Headquarters Inspection

• Jason Land, an equipment operator with the Fort Leavenworth Department of Public Works, for his outstanding efforts to restore the installation’s Parade Field

• Jessica McCalister, Directorate of Emergency Services dispatcher, for her volunteering to assist in troubleshooting and developing a bridging solution for the failing Computer Aided Dispatch system. She worked with the Mid-America Regional Council 911 team to ensure that the bridging solution will accept 911 data, which is critical to the installation’s ability to respond to the community during an emergency.

• Sgt. Jacob McGregor, Department of the Army Security Guard for DES, for excellence for his unwavering vigilance at the Fort Leavenworth access-control points, to include identifying multiple violations and preventing the offenders from entering Fort Leavenworth. Violations included finding drugs, firearms, active warrants, people attempting to access Fort Leavenworth who had an altered visitor pass, did not have a driver's license, were registered sex offenders as well as other debarments.
