The 2024 West Point Class of 1970 Cyber Leaders Conference, themed "Company Grade Leadership in Cyber," united ROTC and West Point cadets recently selected for the cyber branch with experienced cyber personnel from across the Army from Jan. 29-31 at the U.S. Military Academy.
Hosted by the The Army Cyber Institute at West Point, this annual event provides our nation’s future Cyber officers with an invaluable development experience. Guest speakers included Maj. Gen. Paul T. Stanton (USMA Class of 1995), commanding general of the U.S. U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia, and Brig. Gen. Brian Vile (USMA Class of 1995), the Army’s 5th Chief of Cyber and Commandant of the U.S. Army Cyber and Electromagnetic Warfare School, based in Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.
During the event, retired Lt. Gen. Edward Cardon (USMA Class of 1982) replaced retired Lt. Gen. Rhett Hernandez (USMA Class of 1976) as the West Point Cyber chair in a ceremony held during Tuesday’s dinner.
Hernandez, the first commander of Army Cyber Command, served as the inaugural cyber chair for over a decade, paving the way for the program's success. Cardon now assumes the mantle as the second cyber chair, continuing the legacy of leadership in cyber education and development at West Point.
