FORT KNOX, Ky. — The line wrapped around part of Cantigny Warrior Restaurant Nov. 22 for well over an hour as hundreds of Fort Knox personnel and their family members anticipated a large meal together.

What’s become a tradition, the Thanksgiving Eve lunch was served up by leaders from the different tenant units and organizations, dressed in their formal uniforms. The servers included five Gold Neighbors – leaders from the surrounding communities who have been recognized by Fort Knox for outstanding contributions to the installation.

Commander of U.S. Army Recruiting Command and Fort Knox Maj. Gen. Johnny Davis hushed the hungry patrons for a few minutes to allow a blessing over the meal. Shortly after Family Life Chaplain (Maj.) Patrick Kihiu delivered the blessing, everybody got back to enjoying their meal together.

Some leaders suggested the restaurant fed record numbers this year.
