FORT KNOX, Ky. — Several Fort Knox Soldiers and their Families received a special Thanksgiving gift Nov. 17.

Those invited to the Fort Knox Red Cross Helping Hands facility received a sack full of food items from Religious Support Office chaplains that they can use to prepare a Thanksgiving feast. More than 80 sacks of food were distributed.

Many of the Families responded with hugs and gratitude for the gracious gesture.

The sacks included every item needed but the actual meat. That was provided by Chaplain (Maj.) David Chapman, pastoral coordinator and operations officer, who included a voucher in each sack good for a free turkey or ham at the Fort Knox Commissary.
