"We can't thank our veterans enough for all that they've done for us," said Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima as he kicked off the parade. "And for you all to come out here, I know it's a little cold, but think about the sacrifices that these men and women and their families have done for us. So, I can't thank you all enough for coming out here this morning."

The White Sands Missile Range Joint Color Guard proudly marched as the parade began. Their presence at the parade inspired everyone as they paid tribute to the brave and selfless veterans who served in Desert Storm.

Following the color guard was a float with five Desert Storm veterans serving as parade grand marshals: Marine Corps veteran Jeffery Eakman and Army veterans Anthony Guiterrez, Juana Johnson, Gary Stewart, and Kyle Trout.

The parade showcased various highlights, including ROTC and JROTC students marching, bands playing patriotic tunes, and cheerleaders cheering. Many veterans rode on hot rods, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, and large vehicles. Several community members expressed gratitude towards current troops and veterans for their service, while onlookers cheered for their family members, friends, and neighbors who participated in the parade.
