WEST POINT, N.Y. – Keller Army Community Hospital was recognized, by Becker’s Hospital Review, for one of the shortest emergency departments (ED) visit times.
The compiled list of hospitals and health systems visit times used data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provider data catalog.
The CDC tracks the median average time patients spent in the ED before leaving the visit as part of its "timely and effective care" measure set. The data was released Oct. 12, 2023, and covers ED visits recorded from October 2021 through September 2022.
CMS data shows the national median average ED visit time was 160 minutes. Keller Army Community Hospital’s average visit time was 62 minutes.
