JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va.— The 597th Transportation Brigade will bid farewell to our web engineer Trenton Combs Oct. 20.

Combs joined the S6 Information Technology team in February 2014 and will be going to the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Center in Norfolk.

During his time at the brigade, Combs was a diligent, dedicated, and dependable worker and completed multiple projects to increase our productivity and effectiveness.

He remembers the day he waked up and saw the trees in front of the building. It was winter and it was a chilly cold day and he came in and remembers seeing smiling faces, especially the smiling face of his supervisor Dwayne Berry.

One of the projects he is most proud to have worked on with Berry is supporting previous 597th Transportation Brigade Commander Col. Jason Vick’s vision for a new system to make data more accessible while providing personnel with a better and simpler experience.

The project took months to complete, and he worked closely with the Operations Officer Lt. Jeffrey Miller.

From 2014 to 2018, Combs supported multiple missions in San Diego, Joint Base Lewis McChord and Corpus Christi. His role then included many travel assignments to provide communications support during Seaport of Debarkation Exercises and Joint Logistics Over the Shore Exercises.

Then from 2018 to 2020, Combs integrated real time chat, virtual meetings, video, file sharing/storage and document collaboration to our Sharepoint portal.

Combs said working at the 597th Transportation Brigade has been meaningful for him because he enjoyed being part of the team and working with good people at the brigade and at the battalions.

Combs said that while he is nervous about the traffic and the unknowns of the new assignment, it is a promotion and we wish him the best as he embark on a new journey.

You have been an integral part of our team, and your contributions have left an indelible mark on our company.
