Fort Novosel, Ala.- Veterans, transitioning service members, spouses, and even civilians can find a multitude of career opportunities at the monthly Employer Day, which is held inside the atrium of building 5700, the Soldier Service Center. Fort Novosel Transition Assistance Program (TAP) hosts this event monthly.

October’s Employer Day was held on October 18, and featured a wide range of employers, including Troy University, Wal-Mart, Vinell Arabia and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Alfred Alexander, the TAP service manager, emphasized that there is a new assortment of employers each month and something to offer everyone that is interested. He said that the employers rotate each month so there is always a variety of different opportunities.

Employer Day is held on the first Wednesday of the TAP workshop week which varies month to month but remains in the same location. They post the dates for Employer Days and other job fairs and employment opportunities on their Facebook page.

“Come one, come all. It is a tremendous opportunity for transitioning service members, spouses, and veterans as a place to secure employment,” said Alexander.
