SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii — Local Army units are scheduled to conduct routine training activities in October that may be heard by surrounding communities. Additionally, the annual exercise referred to as J-P-M-R-C is planned for Nov. 1-10, with early preparations beginning as early as the last two weeks of October.

Training can occur during daytime and nighttime hours and is subject to change. Weather, such as overcast conditions can increase noise and vibrations. Should individuals hear noise, there is no immediate danger.

For the community’s awareness, the training is as follows:

  • October 2-31 Routine military convoys to support base operations and Army helicopters conducting routine pilot and crew training.
  • October 4-5 Artillery Live Fire on Schofield Barracks from 5 p.m. - 5 a.m. (Night Only)
  • Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (early notification)

November 1-10 Large-scale training exercise called Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC). Anticipate an increase in military traffic, helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) flights.

November 1-10 Increased aircraft activity at Wheeler Army Airfield on Oahu. Flights can be expected day and night hours. This will involve helicopters and fixed wing cargo aircraft (C-130/C-17).

The UAS will fly from Wheeler Army Airfield and transition to the skies over Waialua-Mokuleia-Dillingham and the Kahuku Training Area in the northeast of Oahu during day and nighttime hours Nov. 1-9.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems, or UAS, training can occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week on Wheeler Army Airfield and in the restricted airspace over much of Schofield Barracks and a northwestern section of the Waianae mountain range. The military appreciates the understanding and continued support of the local community.
