‘Danke Schoen!’ Fort Knox community raises glass to Oktoberfest 2023

FORT KNOX, Ky. — The Fort Knox Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation drew a crowd of over 5,000 to its annual Oktoberfest celebration Sept. 22.

People from all walks of life came to Brooks Parade Field to enjoy steins of beer, soft pretzels, games and lots of festive German music. Spontaneous moments of laughter, singing, dancing, playing, eating, and “Prost!” could be seen throughout the five-hour celebration.

Some donned their traditional Bavarian attire to get into the Alpine traditions. Back by popular demand, the band Schnickelfritz played a variety of music, from pop and rock favorites to the traditional Bavarian music that is popular at Oktoberfest.
