FORT BENNING, GA - The Red Rockets defeated Dem Boyz 26-7 in a regular season intramural flag football game Monday at Essebagger Field.

After several possessions, Dem Boyz of 13th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion led 7-0 after Dem Boyz's Bruce Adams intercepted a pass near their own goal line and scored a touchdown and one-point conversion.

Red Rockets of E Company, 1st Bn. (Airborne), 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, came back in the second half when quarterback Josh Hall scored a touchdown and one-point conversion to tie the score 7-7.

On the Red Rockets' second possession of the half, Hall threw a 17-yard pass to Dustin Gelner for a touchdown and with the one-point conversion, led 14-7. With 2:25 left in the game, the Red Rockets scored two more touchdowns, winning 26-7.

"It was a good game. The team did their best and tried their hardest," Red Rockets coach Jonathan Lopez said. "At halftime, we talked about the problems with the defense and about covering our zones."

"We started off slow in the beginning, but we hit our stride in the second half," Hall said. "We have good team chemistry and I have a good feeling that we are going to make it to the postseason championship playoffs."

Flag football games are at 6 and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Essebagger Field.
