The Fort Knox Garrison hosted fifteen Area Development District leaders from across Kentucky on Sept. 7.

The group received an overview on Fort Knox's missions as well as on the post's contributions to the Department of Defense and region.

Part of the visit included a range overflight. This helped familiarize ADD leaders with the types and scope of training occurring at the central Kentucky Army post, while also illustrating the importance for land uses at and near Fort Knox's border to be compatible with Fort Knox mission sets.

Fort Knox Installation Protection Branch manager Colin Lineberger also discussed emergency management with the ADD leaders. He specifically touched on the various scenarios and processes by which Fort Knox Soldiers and assets may be called into service to support emergency response efforts throughout the state.
