The Garrison workers who received length of service awards Aug. 16 represented an accumulation of 450 years of knowledge. But Garrison Commander Col. Brian Cozine pointed out that would be a small portion of the workforce’s at least 1,000 years.

He expressed his appreciation during the Garrison fourth quarter, fiscal 2023 awards ceremony in Bob Jones Auditorium.

“I really do appreciate what you’re doing each and every day. Keep it up,” Cozine said.

The ceremony was presented on the commander’s behalf by the Directorate of Human Resources. Workers received Army Civilian Service Pins, length of service awards, officially commended awards, certificates of achievement, Civilian Service Achievement Medals and Civilian Service Commendation Medals.

“Civilian professionals deserve recognition – whether it be a five-year length of service certificate or a 45-year length of service certificate,” Kendra Brown, workforce development program manager, said. “Recognition is recognition, whether big or small. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.”

The Garrison workforce includes eight military, 340 Army civilians and 700 contractor employees.
