FORT KNOX, Ky. — Officials at the Fort Knox Red Cross and Santa’s Workshop are reaching out to units, agencies and organizations both on and off post to support this year’s Christmas toy drive.
They have established two five-day windows of opportunity for organizations to participate in the donation drive by conducting a ruck march that is designed to promote competitive toy collection while also encouraging esprit de corps. The two windows for participating are Oct. 30 through Nov. 3 and Nov. 6 through 10, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Units and organizations interested in participating in the ruck march toy drive are being asked to use a form provided by the Fort Knox Red Cross that lists the organization’s details and any special requests. Volunteers require a 5-day minimum to coordinate support for each ruck march, which includes light refreshments.
