(From left) U.S. State Department Chief of Mission Andrea Appell and Maldives' Minister of Defence Mariya Didi represented their respective nations recently during a bilateral transfer ceremony for materiel obtained through the U.S. Army’s foreign military sales program. The transfer increases the capacity and capability of the #Maldives National Defence Force and reinforces the strong military-to-military relationship of the two countries. The teamwork among the U.S. State Department, Indo-Pacific Command, U.S. Army Security Assistance Command and many others supports regional security efforts and greater interoperability.
