FORT CARSON, Colo. — Fort Carson Soldiers, Families and members of the Colorado Springs community jammed into Iron Horse Park June 30, 2023, as the post community kicked off the Independence Day weekend at Freedom Fest.
The six-hour event provided an opportunity for military members and their Families to revel in the nation’s birthday with local community members.
The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Special Programs office again worked tirelessly to organize the annual event, which featured family friendly activities, a free concert and the largest fireworks display.
There was a kids play area with inflatables, a mechanical bull ride area for kids of all ages and more than 20 each food and merchandise vendors.
The concert featuring Tenille Arts with Josh Gracin, William Michael Morgan, and Exit West had people cheering and dancing all evening.
