Fort Stewart, Georgia. Mr. Collins will assume his duties on July 16, 2023.
Jared Collins has proven to be a successful educator during his time in DoDEA. He has served as principal at Antilles Middle School for the last two years. He also served as an assistant principal at Naples Elementary School for four years.
“In addition to a successful track record as both a principal and an assistant principal and many years of experience in the classroom, Mr. Collins also brings high energy and a positive disposition with him. His experience overseas serving military connected students and their families as a teacher and as an administrator will help him to hit the ground running at Murray Elementary School. I’m certain that he will continue to engage our families and stakeholders in the process of continuous school improvement and focus on the ongoing academic improvement for all our students. We look forward to Mr. Collins and his incoming leadership at Murray Elementary School,” Perry said.
Mr. Collins is excited to be joining the Fort Stewart community. He began his career in education as an elementary school teacher in California and Utah. He has been with DoDEA since 2001 and has served in various locations, including Yokosuka, Japan; Lakenheath, England; Camp Humphreys, Korea; Sigonella, Italy; Naples, Italy and Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rico. He has experience working with elementary school children from kindergarten through sixth grade and middle school grades sixth through eighth grade.
His teaching experience also includes English for Speakers of Other Languages, or ESOL; Spanish Immersion; Foreign Language in the Elementary School (FLES); literacy support specialist; and READ 180.
Mr. Collins and his wife Rebecca are the proud parents of four children between the ages of 18 and 27, all four of which have graduated from DoDEA schools. They also have three granddaughters with two more on the way! He looks forward to collaborating with Murray Elementary School staff, parents and community members — through positive and frequent communication — as we seek to educate, engage and empower military-connected students to succeed in a dynamic world.
