Exciting news! Hydrogen fuel power is achieving breakthroughs! On Monday, June 5th ASA IE&E Honorable Jacobson joined Deputy Secretary of Energy Mr. Turk from the Department of Energy and the Under Secretary for Science and Technology, Mr. Kusnezov from the Department of Homeland Security, during the showcasing of the H2@Rescue--a hydrogen fuel-powered, class 7 disaster relief truck! An impressive collaborative effort between a number of federal agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and industry, this unique vehicle quietly provides enough power to travel 180 miles, export 25kW of power continuously for 72 hours and can even generate water in support of emergency operations! The H2@Rescue is a giant leap in energy resilience that the U.S. Army is proud to support and represents a true milestone in advancement of hydrogen technology, thanks to the hard work of our federal and industry partners.
