This year, on June 14th, the U.S. Army celebrates 248 years of countless contributions to our Nation’s security and the American way of life.

In 1775, the Second Continental Congress established the Continental Army to fight for our aspiring Nation’s freedom, a task many once thought impossible. Since its birth, United States Army Soldiers, families and Army Civilians have supported our Nation and defended freedom faithfully and honorably across the globe, in times of peace and while at war. On more than one occasion the Army has made the seemingly impossible, possible.

Millions of Soldiers have served in our Army over the past 248 years. They turned obstacles into possibilities that have built our Nation while defending our freedoms. American Soldiers again and again perform above and beyond all expectations, even when faced with adversity. They continually answer the Nation’s call, despite the risks.

The United States Army will continue to be a beacon of hope, a symbol of strength and honor, and offer those who seek more, endless possibilities to serve. Possibilities to be a part of history, to achieve one's goals, and to be more, much more.

This month, we celebrate 248 years of dedication and service by the brave men and women who are our United States Army. They have set a foundation for opportunity, self-development, service and personal growth for the next generation who will carry the United States Army into the future. For them, endless possibilities await to be all you can be. Happy Birthday!

Proud to serve with you and privileged to be your Command Sergeant Major.

Be all you can be!
