RADCLIFF, Ky. — Weather threatened to dampen spirits at the start of the 2023 Hooray for Heroes celebration May 20 before clouds gave way to sun and fun.
Crowds responded to the change in weather by gathering at the downtown area getting involved in the festivities. On hand were several vendors, including churches, banks and nonprofit organizations to offer information and join in the entertainment.
Hosted by the city of Radcliff, many gathered under a large tent to listen to music while they ate lunch. The event was kicked off by the national anthem and a welcome speech from Col. Lance O’Bryan, commander of Fort Knox Garrison.
The annual event coincides with Military Appreciation Month.
