FORT KNOX, Ky. – Due to inclement weather, Fort Knox Safety officials have moved the planned Bicycle Safety Day event at the Main Exchange area to Wednesday, May 24.

The free event, which is expected to take place 5-7 p.m. at the Exchange parking lot, will feature a variety of safety learning opportunities. Safety and law enforcement officials will teach laws of the road, the importance of proper safety gear and where safe riding locations are on post.

They will also host a “Bike Safety Rodeo” interactive obstacle course and provide all participants with a free goodie bag.

Upon arrival, each child will be given one raffle ticket for the chance to win one of two bicycles, each with a helmet included. The drawing will announce two separate winners.

The Kentucky Mountain Bike Association will be on site to perform maintenance safety checks on all kids’ bikes and make repairs if needed.
