What is your favorite part about your job?
“In this position, we often get to watch how Soldiers advance in their military career because they keep coming back for schools, like captain’s career course. Some moves take a little bit longer than others because they start so far in advance, so we can form a good working relationship with the service members over the course of several months.”
— Stephanie Beckham
What’s something people might not know about what your office does?
“If it involves moving your things, we do it. We handle all types of military moves, including full and partial, do-it-yourself moves for all the military branches here. Make sure you talk to us before you make any financial decisions, purchase anything or hire anyone for your move that may make it so you cannot be reimbursed.”
— Amber Houser
What advice would you give to customers?
“Come prepared. Know your dates and have your orders in hand. Have realistic expectations; you may not get what you want, but we are going to do our best to try to make it happen. Don’t wait — a lot of customers think they need their clearing papers or leave forms to see our office, but their move is valid as soon as the orders come in, so don’t put it off.”
— Sandra Roberts
What military skill sets translate to this position?
“The communication skills we gained during our time in service are useful in helping service members.”
— Tony Sweat
