PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. - On Bring Your Child to Work Day, April 27, 194 7-12-year-old children toured Picatinny Arsenal to learn about tanks, howitzers, ammunition loading vehicles, remotely operated weapons and small arms and other systems from Picatinny armament engineers.
The children toured a prototype manufacturing facility where they learned how a limitless number of designs can be fashioned from a host of different materials. The children also toured a fire station where they learned about how equipment and training help firefighters do their perilous work.
Simultaneously, 93 teens age 13-17 toured a gaming and interactive technologies laboratory, learning how the technologies can assist with training Soldiers.
They toured a lab focused on 3D printing and advanced materials manufacturing, and they toured a Navy lab focused on medium minor caliber weapons.
The teens also stopped to learn about job opportunities related to emergency management and sustainment support for Picatinny Arsenal.
