Integrating police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, the exercise tested their response times if a real-world catastrophe were to occur. Leaders placed inflatable victims in the hallway and various rooms of the RSO building to simulate what first responders would encounter.

Teams of firefighters combed through rooms, identifying victims and triaging them while police and military police officers secured the scene. Once the injured were removed, medical technicians prioritized care and determined where each individual would be transported.

Leaders said regular training is key to muscle memory if a real event should happen.
