Zama Shrine Walking Tour
Army Community Service will be offering a walking tour of the nearby Zama shrine March 3. It will begin at 10 a.m., with the starting point being the Community Recreation Center.
The Zama shrine is just a short 10-minute walk from the Camp Zama main gate, and to enter the shrine, visitors must walk up a set of 77 steps. In observance of what’s known as “Girl’s Day” in Japan, the shrine decorates those steps with hundreds of traditional Japanese Hina dolls.
The walking tour is free and open to everyone in the community. Call ACS at 263-5127 or 046-407-4357 from your cellphone for more information.
