“We get to take the opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of this great Army family that we have in the Camachos,” said Garrison Commander, Col. Kevin A. Poole. “And we get to welcome a great team in Command Sgt. Maj. Acevedo.”

Camacho and his family arrived to the USAG Bavaria community in the summer of 2021. Now they are headed to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.

“We’ve lived in one of the Army’s best kept secrets, the Bavaria military community,” explained Camacho. “The thought of leaving Bavaria has been the most challenging for our Family, we’ve made many lifelong friends through this journey.”

Acevedo is no stranger to the USAG Bavaria community. His previous assignment was with the 7th Army Training Command, G3 operations. Before that, he was the battalion command sergeant major for the 709th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade.

“I’m excited to join your team and promise that I will try my best every single day to meet your expectations of a garrison command sergeant major,” said Acevedo.

His wife Stephanie is also a member of the Bavaria team and works for the Training Support Activity Europe.

The event was concluded with a ceremonial battery by the Bundeswehr Black Powder Shooters of Volsbach.
