- Name: Staff Sgt. Matthew Haseman
- Hometown: Spencer, IN
- Time in service: 15 years
- MOS: 13B - Cannon Crewmember
- Crane Army title: Security Specialist
Why did you join the Army?
"I enlisted because I went to see a recruiter with a friend. But I joined the Army to serve my country and I've really loved being in it for 15 years. You can't beat the camaraderie; it is one of the greatest parts of being a Soldier."
What are your hobbies?
"I love to hunt and fish, but my favorite thing is to spend time with my four kids. I can recall each of their birth weights, lengths and the day of the week they were born on.
I was deployed for 15 months and felt like I missed out on a big part of them growing up. Now, there's nothing better than the kids dropping everything to say hello when I get home from work."

What is your New Year's resolution?
"This year, I am going to try to be a better person, father, husband, Soldier and leader. I take this resolution pretty seriously, because I've had a lot of good leadership that I want to pattern myself after. I aspire to be the role model for Soldiers that I had when I was junior enlisted."
