Community invited to participate in annual post wreath laying ceremony

Fort Knox, Ky. — Volunteers from the greater Fort Knox community are invited to participate in a Wreaths Across America wreath laying ceremony at Fort Knox’s Post Cemetery on Dec. 17, starting at noon.

Commander of Army Reserve Aviation Command Brig. Gen. Roger Deon Jr. will host the ceremony and deliver remarks. Afterward, attendees will be invited to place about 850 wreaths, courtesy of Wreaths Across America, on the graves of those interred in the cemetery.

Attendees are being asked to arrive early due to parking and site access considerations and should plan to park in the Lindsey Golf Course parking lot, located just inside the Chaffee (Main) Gate at the first traffic light. They can then walk to the cemetery. Volunteers will be on hand to tell people where to go.

Those without a visitor pass are encouraged to either go to the post’s Visitor Center before the day of to obtain an annual pass or visit the Fort Knox website HERE to get a 5-day fast pass.
