ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. – Team CECOM!
It's great to be back working from headquarters after being away for the past few weeks.
It's another busy week around the command, as we're hosting our CECOM Senior Command Representatives, or SCRs, from all around the world right here at APG for an SCR Symposium. Over the course of the week-long symposium, our SCRs are engaging in those important face-to-face discussions and we're delivering their priorities for the next year.
This is a good opportunity for them to specifically tell us how we can help them overcome the challenges they inevitably face. It also allows the SCRs to tell us, in-detail, about their field experiences and how we, at CECOM, can improve our support to the warfighter where it really counts. Our SCRs are true superstars, and they do a phenomenal job representing our entire CECOM team at the tip of the spear.
Team, I'd also like for you all to be aware of some upcoming changes to our DoD-wide social media policy. Last week, the Army's Office of the Chief of Public Affairs published a new Army ALARACT 073/2022, which outlines and describes areas of the Army's updated social media policy, including guidance on new and emerging platforms, official account types, capturing social media, transparency, and misuse of position. For those of you who utilize social media, please be mindful that personal accounts of any Soldier or DA civilian are prohibited from being used in an official capacity, to include conveying official Army or DoD information, unless sharing from an official source. For more information, please see ALARACT 073/2022, published at this link.
As we begin an eventful November for our Nation and our Army, let's all be sure to be aware that this month is Military Family Month. It's a unique chance for us all to recognize the strength and sacrifice of our military families. We should all take time this month to say thank you to the true heroes that make our Army great! Military families are the strength behind our Soldiers, and their resilience, and grace are truly remarkable. CECOM is privileged to honor their service and commitment every day, especially during November!
For our outstanding civilian workforce, as we approach the end of the year and holiday season, a quick reminder about "use-or-lose" leave. Our DA civilians must input their use-or-lose leave to ATAAPS before the 19 November pay period. Remember that leave is an important component of work-life balance so please, find a way, with your supervisor's concurrence, to take that well deserved time!
Thank you all for your continued support, dedication and commitment to this command and our Soldiers. You are all essential in ensuring our warfighters have all the C5ISR-M resources they need, when they need it.
Combat Power! Always Ready!
Sincerely,
MG Rob Edmonson II
