FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — When we think of November, things like football season, cooler weather or outdoor recreation and hunting come to mind for many of us. It’s also the time of year when we give thanks for what is most important to us.

Since 1993, November has been synonymous with Military Family Appreciation Month.

Whether we are in the field, deployed or working long hours, our family members are our strength and support. They are adaptive, innovative, resilient and a source of readiness.

We are grateful for our family members and for every person on post and in the community, whose profession or passion is caring for military families. Whether you are part of our garrison team, our school district or our communities, your support is noticed and appreciated.

During Military Family Appreciation Month, please join us in thanking the military families who serve and sacrifice alongside their Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen here in the heart of our nation.
