Fort Knox prepares to feed hundreds at Nov. 23 Thanksgiving meal

FORT KNOX, Ky. — Army leaders are prepping their military uniforms for another year of serving good food to Soldiers at this year’s Thanksgiving meal in Cantigny Warrior Restaurant Nov. 23.

The traditional Wednesday meal is designed to provide Soldiers who are away from home a quality homecooked-style meal in celebration of the holiday and show appreciation to them, Family Members, and civilian employees, according to officials.

Units and organizations have been given an appointed time to sit down for a meal, based on the following schedule:

  • 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Group AUSAG, USACC, HRC, USAREC, V Corps
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Group B ARAC, 1st TSC, 1st Army East/4th Cav, ARCG, 19th Engineers
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m.: Group C100th Division, 84th Training Command, 19th Eng., MEDDAC, DENTAC, PHA

Leaders will gather at 11:30 to bless the food and kick off the meal. Service will end at 2:30.

The holiday rate for the meal is $10.05. Soldiers E-4 and below as well as personnel on field duty with no per diem will pay the discounted holiday rate of $7.45. During that day, Cantigny will serve a continental breakfast 6-7:30 a.m. to allow time to focus on the lunchtime meal and decorations.
