WHEELER ARMY AIRFIELD, Hawaii -- Trick-or-treating is authorized on Monday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m. in all U.S. Army Hawaii family housing areas.

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, families should continue to socially distance, have hand sanitizer readily available, stay home if feeling sick and consider staying current on COVID-19 vaccinations to include booster doses.

To keep keiki safe, consider adding reflective tape or striping to costumes or trick-or-treat bags. Use costumes, wigs and accessories that are flame resistant, and use hats and shoes that fit properly.

Remain on well-lit streets and always use the sidewalk. If no sidewalk is available, walk at the far edge of the roadway facing traffic.

Children should be reminded to never cut across yards or use alleys and only cross the street as a group in established crosswalks.

Guidance may change as the local situation changes.
