Team CECOM,

Welcome to Autumn! While the Fall season may bring us some cooler weather, the chance of extreme weather remains on our horizon. Case in point, Hurricane Ian made landfall down in Florida and again in South Carolina the last week of September.

The U.S. Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPAAS) is a standardized method for the Army to account, assess, manage and monitor the recovery process for personnel and their families affected by a wide-spread catastrophic event. ADPAAS provides valuable information to all levels of the Army chain of command, allowing local commanders to make strategic decisions which facilitate the return to stable operations. In times of emergency events, ADPAAS is activated by the Department of the Army to get a status on personnel in an affected area. No matter where your primary duty location is, please make sure your ADPAAS information is up to date by following the instructions on this link.

Every October is Cybersecurity Awareness month and this year’s theme is, “See yourself in Cyber.” Our APG teammates with the DEVCOM C5ISR Center have scheduled an exciting MS Teams Live Kickoff event for 3 OCT at 1300 in APG’s Mallette Auditorium. Professor Robert Richardson, National Defense University - DISA Chair will be providing a dynamic presentation on the cybersecurity of DoD Information Networks. You do not need to be located on Aberdeen Proving Ground to attend this special event virtually, so I hope to see you all there. Please use the following MS Teams link to attend: https://dod.teams.microsoft.us/l/meetup-join/19%3adod%3ameeting_eb95bb5a3c984261a176fb96c1dd2ba7%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22fae6d70f-954b-4811-92b6-0530d6f84c43%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%228ac340bd-122f-473a-81bd-1a55f87522c1%22%2c%22IsBroadcastMeeting%22%3atrue%7d.

On Tuesday 4 OCT we will be hosting a Virtual CECOM Worldwide Town Hall. The event is scheduled to begin at 1300, and an MS Outlook Calendar invite was emailed to you all last week. We will have several important topics to cover, including: a recap of the recent C5ISR Summit, an AMC Supply Chain Optimization update, a COVID-19 and telework policy update, an Acq-Demo discussion, as well as some noteworthy awards and recognitions. This will also be CSM Conaty’s first official Town Hall event, so let’s make sure we show him some of that wonderful CECOM attendance and participation.

CSM Conaty and I attended the Commander’s Conference at AMC headquarters in Redstone, Alabama. It was a really good opportunity for some of our CECOM leaders to synchronize with AMC leadership counterparts. The three-day conference was attended by both current and former AMC commanders, CSM’s, and DCG’s, who discussed command-wide strategic initiatives. These types of discussions lead to the necessary changes which enable the continued success of our workforce.

Thank you all for your support, dedication, and commitment to CECOM and our Soldiers. You are all essential in ensuring our warfighters have all the C5ISR-M resources they need, when they need it.

Combat Power! Always Ready!

Sincerely,

MG Rob Edmonson II
