Sgt. Eliezer Meléndez, 113th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment

The Headquarters and Headquarters Company "Hoplites" of the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armored Regiment recently promoted their senior supply sergeant, Staff Sgt. Alishea Anderson to the rank of Sgt. 1st Class at Drawsko Pomorskie, Poland, March 17, 2022. The Hoplites gathered outside for her promotion while making sure to "live stream" the promotion ceremony for her friends and family who could not join in person.

Anderson, a career Soldier with 15 years of service, began her career in the U.S. Army as a private. As she developed her skills, her responsibility also grew.

She moved to different sections such as the Property Book office, the Support Operations Section, and eventually her first company supply room. Her dedication and work ethic were vital in achieving various goals within that role.

Her early career not only molded her but also became the key to her success as it outlined for her what a good leader should be.

"Be the change you want to see in the Army. This belief shaped me and taught me to actively engage with my Soldiers and anyone seeking advice," said Anderson.

She added, "Look out for your Soldiers, encourage them, and make sure they always give the best of themselves; That's what a mentor is all about, and that's what they need to be their best."
