Post-wide walk for sexual assault survivors slated Sept. 26-30

FORT KNOX, Ky. – Members of the Fort Knox community are invited to walk or run laps at the physical training track behind Natcher Physical Fitness Center Sept. 26-30 in support of survivors of sexual assault.

The U.S. Army Cadet Command’s Sexual Harassment Assault Response Prevention team is hosting this year’s “Walking for 7,816+” event each day that week from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is named to remember the victims of the 7,816 reports of sexual assault across the Department of Defense in 2020, as well as all other survivors.

Participants are asked to pre-register and pledge the number of laps they commit to walk or run by emailing the event point of contact at diondre.m.jenkins.mil@army.mil. Registration will also be available upon arrival.
