WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. (July 29, 2022) Two weeks ago, White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) welcomed Emmanuel Gutierrez, the post’s new Commissary Officer. After serving in the Army as an Ammunition Logistics Specialist, Gutierrez worked as a grocery manager on posts in Korea, Missouri, Germany, and now here at WSMR.
While this is his first time working at WSMR, it is not his first time to the area as he spent part of his childhood living in Las Cruces. What he enjoys most about his job is the people he works with and learning about consumer psychology. In his new role, Gutierrez looks forward to increasing engagement with the WSMR community by holding fun events on post.
When asked why he served in the military and continues to serve as a Department of Defense employee he explained how he wanted to serve his country. “I wanted to be a Soldier, to get experience and to travel,” Gutierrez said. “I like military communities. I like the cohesiveness. It is crisp and rugged.”
When he isn’t working, Gutierrez is either traveling around the world, out on a fishing trip, or staying in to watch scary movies.
