IZMIR, Turkey – Soldiers from A Company, Allied Forces South Battalion, bid farewell to 1st Sgt. Laurence E. Stewart and welcomed 1st Sgt. Eva J. Bryant during a change of responsibility ceremony at Allied Land Command July 27.
“1st Sgt. Stewart's influence and leadership pervade this organization,” said Maj. Matthew Faull, A Company commander. “His legacy resides not only in the formation but in the future positions of leadership the Soldiers of this organization will assume.”
Stewart moves on to Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
“Everyone falls one day but only the strong get up,” said Stewart. “I am leaving this organization with confidence that when my NCOs fall they will get up running, because I have provided them the tools to fight and win!”
Bryant comes to A Company from Special Operations Command South in Homestead, Florida, where she served as the noncommission officer in charge of the J1 section.
“Good, better, best; never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best,” said Bryant about the philosophy she brings to the assignment.
