Staff from Joint Task Force-National Capital Region and U.S. Army Military District of Washington attended a leadership professional development event hosted by the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, Washington, D.C., June 29, 2022.

Forty staff members took part in the panel discussion, which covered a number of topics including team performance, developing and training employees, and the similarities between a baseball team and military units.

The Washington Nationals’ Executive Leadership Panel included Mike Carney (Executive Vice President, Business Operations), Mark Scialabba (Assistant General Manager, Player Personnel), Valerie Krebs (Executive Director, Communications), Gregory McCarthy (Senior Vice President, Community Engagement), and Nicole Murray (Director, Community Relations).

After the panel, many staff members stayed and enjoyed the game as the Nationals took on the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Leadership Development is part of the Washington Nationals' Nats on Base. Through the Nats on Base initiative, the Nationals provide year-round experiences that contribute to the quality of life for service members and their families in the Washington D.C. region.
