ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. – 13 Cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point recently visited the US Army DEVCOM Laboratories here at APG. The cadets are part of the Academy’s Advanced Individual Development Program and were chosen to visit APG because they are majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The West Point AID Program operates like an internship and allows students to spend time with organizations that match their field of study. The cadets were here for a week-long visit and gained a valuable background on the life cycle of science and technology which included, briefings on acquisition, forecasting and time with the Army Research Lab. They also spent time learning the various programs and projects within the C5ISR community. The visit culminated with a stop at the Communications-Electronic Command’s Software Engineering Center where they received an overview from a CECOM’s Deputy to the Commanding General, Larry Muzzelo who was joined in the meeting by SEC Acting Director Garrett Shoemaker.
