Hometown:

El Paso, Texas

How long have you been working for the U.S. Army:

I have worked for the U.S. Army for 11 years, serving eight years as a military finance officer and three years as a Department of the Army Civilian.

What other positions have you held with the U.S. Military:

I served as budget analyst for Army Special Operations and Joint Special Operations units, as a brigade Resource Management (S8) officer in charge, and a Department of the Army Civilian budget analyst for the 402nd AFSB, Army Field Support Battalion-Alaska.

Tell us about your job and what you do:

I am a budget analyst for Logistics Readiness Center-Daegu, 403rd Army Field Support Brigade. I execute and reconcile financial transactions for direct-funded missions and customer reimbursable logistics support requirements for Area IV in the Republic of Korea. I advise the LRC director and division chiefs on all budgetary matters by providing data analysis from multiple financial management systems and budget planning tools to evaluate execution milestones, forecast installation readiness requirements, and recommend courses of action for any program shortfalls.

How long have you been in this position?

One year, three months

What other duties are you responsible for?

I also serve as the LRC-Daegu Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program Unit Victim Advocate.

What are some of your accomplishments while at LRC-Daegu:

In the past year, we have streamlined our processes for customer reimbursable support which resulted in increased accuracy in the reports of our above baseline level services in Army systems of record. This has significantly reduced processing time for customer billing.

What is the best thing about working at LRC-Daegu:

I love learning from the decades of knowledge that our local Korean National team members bring to the table and sharing cross-cultural experiences. I also enjoy working at the LRC because it gives me the unique opportunity to independently perform all budget execution functions at the lowest level and provide direct coordination for financial management support between logistics requirement owners and decision makers on a daily basis.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I work out at the pool and enjoy traveling to different countries either solo or with friends.
