FORT DRUM, N.Y. (May 23, 2022) -- Country music artist Justin Moore will headline the free AmeriCU Salute to the Troops Tribute Concert on Aug. 31 during Mountainfest at Fort Drum.

Moore earned his first county hit with "Small Town USA," off his 2009 self-titled debut album that went platinum. He followed up with another hit single in 2011 with “Outlaws Like Me.” In 2012, he won Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the American Country Awards.

Moore went to the top of the charts again in 2016 with “Kinda Don’t Care” from his critically-acclaimed album “Off the Beaten Path.”

Opening for Moore will be Lauren Alaina, a singer-songwriter who was named runner-up in the 2011 season of “American Idol” and went on to record multiple albums and hit singles.

This is the 10th year that AmeriCU Credit Union will sponsor the concert in support of 10th Mountain Division (LI) Soldiers and families.

“We continue to hold this event as a special thank you to the 10th Mountain Division and those assigned to Fort Drum,” said Alissa Sykes Tulloch, AmeriCU chief operating officer. “We are grateful to you and your families, the civilians and veterans, and everyone in this community for all they do in valiant service to our country.”

Mountainfest will open to the public at noon Aug. 31 on Division Hill, and the concert is scheduled at 6 p.m., followed by a fireworks display.

“To all of our Soldiers, families and community members, Aug. 31 is going to be an exciting time here when we open our gates for Mountainfest,” said Col. Jason A. Curl, 10th Mountain Division deputy commander for operations. “We look forward to welcoming everyone from the community to Division Hill for a day of fun activities, food and music.”
