FORT KNOX, Ky. – A rare opportunity for Fort Knox community members to voice what they believe are strengths and weaknesses at the installation has returned and is open for public feedback.
The Community Strengths and Themes Assessment survey is an online questionnaire for Soldiers, dependents, civilians, retirees and anyone associated with Fort Knox to express their personal thoughts. Community readiness and resilience integrator LovieAnn Terrado explained the CSTA survey was created to improve readiness and resilience.
“The CSTA is designed to capture the pulse of our community members’ feelings on quality of life, health, safety and satisfaction of our Army installation,” said Terrado. “It’s a great opportunity to influence positive changes in our community.”
According to Terrado, the survey opened at the beginning of April and will be available to community members through June 30. She encouraged everyone to participate to maximize success.
“Every community member’s input is valuable in order to collectively provide the community’s perspective on the effectiveness of our programs, services and policies,” said Terrado, “especially as we aim to mitigate harmful behaviors to truly make our community ready and resilient.”
Those interested in taking the survey can visit usaphcapps.amedd.army.mil. There, they will find a series of questions pertaining to family, social, psychological, spiritual and physical themes. Terrado said the survey also asks about overall community wellness.
“Participants will be asked to rank their top community health concerns, and will have the opportunity to share their thoughts regarding policies, programs and services,” said Terrado.
Terrado said once complete, the survey will be reviewed by many key leaders throughout the installation. Past CSTA results have resulted in positive changes in healthier food options at dining facilities and the commissary, as well as counseling opportunities – but the key, said Terrado, is to say where change is desired.
“If there is a community need that has consistently been voiced as a top concern, this can be valuable data for our leaders to implement positive changes,” said Terrado.
Terrado said the CSTA survey is only conducted every two years, so this is the community’s last chance for a while to share their opinions in this type of forum. She emphasized what a long-lasting effect participation can have.
“Its purpose is to influence and impact our community members’ well-being today and for years to come,” said Terrado; “what better way to share what matters to you.”
